This next car came in as a tip from Cory who said “NOT A FIERO”. But, it’s a kit-car Lambo? How could it not be a Fiero? Maybe a Beetle? No…it is a Saturn Sky Redline (the corporate cousin to the Pontiac Solstice GXP) that has been somehow converted into a fake Gallardo. I hate […]
The automotive press acted like it was the Second Coming when the Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice twins were released into the world for the 2006 model year. Automotive “journalists” raved about how great it was to finally have an affordable American sports car with a turbocharger and a manual transmission…and that it was going to bring about the American automotive Renaissance…but they got it totally wrong and the ensuing automotive apocalypse of 2008 pushed Saturn and Pontiac into an early grave….and for whatever reason the Skystice is dirt cheap, even in Redline or GXP trim. The Saturn brand was unceremoniously sacked as result of the 2008 global automobile market crash and the only two casualties that anyone should care about from the different kind of car company was […]
The GM Kappa platform was introduced in 2006 to much pomp and circumstance. Hallelujah, the chorus sang, General Motors finally listened to us car guys and introduced a lightweight, subcompact, rear drive chassis to compete with Mazda’s MX-5, Honda’s S2000, and the like. Unfortunately, GM canceled the entire line after 3 years of production when […]
