This next thing comes as a tip from Cory who writes: coolest two wheel submission in a while- NYC police Vespa from the 80’s. I wouldn’t have guessed that NYPD would have cruised around on scooters in the 1970s/1980s, but I guess crime was simpler (and criminals were slower) back in those days. Find this […]
Ex-police vehicles are such a mixed bag. First, you know that they were built to a higher standard and maintained by a fleet that probably wouldn’t skip oil changes. They also have awesome low spec interiors with cloth seats, washable plastic floors, and column shifters, which are all great. But then you’ve got the issue […]
This next car comes as a tip from Kevin who writes; Hey Andy! Here you go, a Mayberry squad car just like Andy Griffith used to drive. You don’t have to be a major Don Knotts (or Ron Howard) fan to appreciate this next car, because it oozes nostalgic 60s TV charm like oil from […]
The forth generation Chevrolet Caprice was used by so many Police departments for many many decades that they still evoke a instinctive brake check from motorists…myself included. This next example might date from the bubble styling era but the addition of a huge supercharger under the hood will let it keep up with modern fast […]
If you enjoy the thrill of a good ride in the back of a police car, then this next ride might be right for you. You’ll also need to enjoy holding your head out of the window at speed and chasing tennis balls, because only a canine will be happy in the metal back seat […]
The Police version of any car has a special attraction because of the cop shocks, cop steering, cop motor…etc…but within the Fox-body world it brings the added cool factor of being an LX notchback version. On all other Mustang body styles the fastback was way cooler, but with the Fox (1979-1993) it somehow flipped the […]
Putting together a list of the best cars from your local fuzz depot sounds easy because…well…there is the Crown Victoria. Everything else is just a pretender. Unfortunately, the modern cop cars are faster, better equipped, and ride nicer than old Queen Vic, but we’ll kick of this festival of 5-Oh with a Vicky. There are […]
Being a Real Estate agent in the Southern California area has its pluses and minuses. On the plus side, houses cost a small fortune, so your commission on the average 2-bedroom bungalow is on par with selling a dozen mansions in Indiana, but everybody and his mom is an agent…so competition is fierce. How, then, […]
People routinely ask me the best car for their particular situation and transportation needs. They typically ignore my well thought out advice and go buy some overpriced pile of depreciation from the first dealer lot they drunk-walk into (oooh…it smells newwwww) but that doesn’t matter because I will continue to dole out unheeded advice like […]
In 1996 the Chevrolet Caprice disappeared from the North American lineup, where it was replaced a few years later by the front-wheel-drive W-body Impala. With the death of Pontiac, GM now had no large rear-drive full-sized car to sell for fleet use, so they started importing the WM generation Holden Caprice in 2011 as a […]
