The Caprice name was first used by GM on a full sized top of the line Chevrolet in 1966. You could even get the Caprice with a big block pushing 425 horsepower out of some crazy 11:1 compression ratio solid lifter equipped beast…but those are collectible and expensive today…and still slower than the Caprice you can get from a city surplus auction for about $5k. The sixth generation Caprice was built in Australia through 2017 when the Holden plant was closed and another chapter in the automotive history books was closed.
