Classic car prices have been through the roof in the past few decades…or perhaps inflation has been more aggressive than anyone could have imagined…but any way you look at it, a shiny and good looking mainstream classic will cost you a pretty penny. So if you are financially challenged, or just a tightwad, and you want a classic, you need to dig deep into obscure makes/models and find something like this next thing. Find this 1952 Morris Minor offered for $10,900 in Belchertown, MA via craigslist. Tip from ME.
This next car comes as tip from Erik202 who writes; I like when sellers tell you that their vehicle is rare without any numbers or context. I’ve never seen Riley so I guess it’s rare in that sense but it’s pretty much identical to a wolsley 1500 which I wouldn’t consider especially rare. according to wikipedia they made 39,000+ of this model of Riley so if there is a threshold for a car being rare I feel like this might be pushing that number a bit. Anyway it’s nice if a “rare” british car that doesn’t go fast is your thing. Find this 1960 Riley One-Point-Five (or 1.5…I dunno, I’m getting conflicting info on this one) offered for $18,000 CAD ($13,596 USD) in Springbrook, Alberta, Canada via Kijiji.net.

The Morris Minor was launched in 1948 as a replacement for the pre-war styled Morris Eight to much acclaim, brouhaha, and caterwauling. The design was created under the direction of legendary Alec Issigonis and was the first British car to sell over a million examples. Up until 1967, you could be the proud owner of a brand-new 15-year-old car procured from a stateside importer. But back in mid-60’s, most English cars still looked like 2/3 scale 1950’s American cars. In the land of planned obsolescence and free gas, that sales pitch went over like a rolling unsynchronized first gear downshift. […]

The Morris Minor was an economy family sedan from Morris Motors that was sold starting in 1948 and continuing through 1972. In the end over 1.2 million examples of the Sir Alec Issigonis designed cars were sold. Today’s example has been given a new heart from a Ford — find this 1963 Morris Minor offered […]
Over 1.2 million examples of the Morris Minor were sold between 1948 and 1972. The Minor was built by Morris Motors Limited in the UK and would be easy to dismiss for an Austin Mini imitator (family sedan built in bulk, many variants available, old styling lasting for decades), but the Minor predated the Mini […]

Most of the cars featured on the Daily Turismo are chosen because they are good deals or visually striking…never have we featured a car because the seller has made a particularly biting comment towards a potential bidder, until now.
