Sixty five hundred bucks doesn’t get you much in a classic car these days, particularly with one that has a sweet Kammback wagon shape. Except here we get a V4 engine…wait, that’s not right. This isn’t a Lancia Fulvia or a Saab Sonett, this is a Vega, which means it has some kind of SOHC […]
We’ve featured a few Chevrolet Vega Kammback wagons on DT in the past few months or so — and, thankfully, only one of them came equipped with the original cast iron boat anchors posing as engines that came from the factory when new. The Yenko Stinger tribute was neat, and the Lightning Rod equipped version was also interesting, but expensive, so today’s next example is cheap, cheap, cheap. Just the way I like ’em. I know that we featured another Kammback Vega the other day, but that was a special Yenko Stinger tribute with a Buick V6, but today’s example is a bone stock survivor. So, how do you like your Vega wagons, modified or stock? Find this 1974 Chevrolet Vega Wagon bidding for $7,177 in Woodland, CA via ebay with 1 day to go. Tip from Rock On!
Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. The Yenko Stinger was a Corvair based custom built in the late 60s, but hold your pitchforks…Don Yenko also built a few hundred Yenko Stingers in the early 70s on the Vega chassis. This next car is offered as a “tribute” to the actual Stinger, but it has a 3.8 liter Buick V6 instead of the original turbo-4 2.3 liter that Yenko offered. The AMC Eagle was a neat looking 4X4 compact crossover-car thing that beat the modern market to the compact crossover and defined traditional labeling of the time. The sedan/wagon/coupe versions were built on the AMC Concord chassis, but the 2-door SX/4, Kammback, & Sundancer models were built on the AMC Spirit subcompact chassis…but the important […]
The AMC Eagle was sold in a number of different body styles, but where things get confusing is when you transition from the 4-door sedan/wagon/coupe versions built on the AMC Concord chassis but the 2-door SX/4, Kammback, & Sundancer models were built on the AMC Spirit subcompact chassis. However, there is nothing quite like combining […]
