Mention “Pace Car” in general conversation and inevitability talk will turn to Corvettes and Firebirds as some of the most recognized and memorable models. Find this 1980 Pontiac […]

The television show Knight Rider ran from 1982 to 1986. The show was a huge hit and catapulted David Hasselhoff’s then young acting career to stardom. The new for 1982 third generation Trans Am also got a big boost publicity boost serving as the main co-star on the show. The car’s name was KITT or […]
The third generation Pontiac Firebird (1982-1992) might not have the cool looks of the earlier 1st (1967-1969) or 2nd gen (1970-1981) but it was certainly a better assembled and constructed automobile, and it wasn’t as strangely styled as the 4th generation that replaced it. Production of Pontiac’s Firebird ended in 2002 when the F-body was finally put to pasture and replaced by the Zeta chassis Camaro a few years later. But what really differentiated the Firebird from the Camaro were the strange option packages, like today’s Skybird. Find this 1977 Pontiac Firebird Skybird offered for $13,000 in Palmer, […]

The Pontiac Firebird was the result of GM brand sharing, a situation that arose after Pontiac had designed their own Corvette killer. It was called the Banshee and was a fiberglass beauty engineered under the direction of John Z. DeLorean — but GM top brass would hear nothing about a car faster than the Corvette […]
The Pontiac Trans Am with the 301 PonchoTurbo V8 under the hood has the remarkable distinction of being the last vehicle sold with Pontiac’s V8 that was born in 1955. The Poncho V8 alone makes this next vehicle worthy of feature, but the incredible thunderchicken on the hood seals the deal — it’s like somebody […]
