A few years ago a friend asked for recommendations for a late model 4 seat convertible and as I did the requisite research, I discovered that there aren’t that many convertibles with back seats. They do exist and, oddly enough, Mercedes-Benz built quite a few in the past few years with its S-Class, E-Class, C-Class […]
of the Golf platform (Golf hatch/coupe/sedan/GTI) and that was certainly the case in 1986 when this Golf Cabrio was born. It was sold alongside the Mk2, but sits on a Mk1 chassis and is one of the nicer preserved Cabrios you’ll find on craigslist. Find this 1986 Volkswagen Cabriolet offered for $12,500 in New Canaan, CT via craigslist. Tip from Cory.
I have to admit that I’ve had a soft spot for the front-engine water cooled Porsches from the 70s/80s/90s for a while…or maybe that’s a soft spot in my head…I dunno. What I do know is that my head would enjoy the California sunshine when I’m cruising around in one of the prettiest cars ever to come from Stuttgart and of the 2248 convertibles that were imported into North America between 1992 and 1995, this isn’t a bad way to go. Find this 1994 Porsche 968 Cabrio offered for $18500 in Newport, RI via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

I can almost feel the wind in my hair now and smell the occasional waft of a mild chemical scent (all Porsches emanate some kind of petroleum based scent from time-to-time…just don’t take it to the dealer and ask for a diagnosis because they will say you need a new rear main seal and a […]
The VW Cabrio has a well earned reputation for being a hairdressers car and is not normally associated with performance engine swaps. The factory Cabrio SOHC 1.8 engine only put down 94 hp so there are no tears lost at its disappearance here. Somehow today’s car ended up with a 16V engine, but this […]
While most parts of North America are begrudging digging out of snow piles and cuddling the stove to stay warm, car nuts dream of sunny summer days and endless cruising in a drop-top sports car. There is no better time to scoop up a handsome specimen at discount pricing than during the perils of winter […]
The Fiat 1200 Cabriolet is a little Pininfarina designed classic that combines the classic charm of an Italian built roadster with the classic prices of something from Great Britain. Today’s Fiat needs a few finishing touches before you can cruise around your local peninsula or bay country club. Find this 1960 Fiat 1200 Cabriolet offered […]
