This is what they call a case of Deja Peug. You know, when you see a Peugoet and you SWEAR you’ve seen that Frenchie before? Yes, this was the “Instant Regret” 504 Cabriot from a year ago — someone bought it on bringatrailer and instantly realized he/she had overpaid….which must happen about 50 times a […]
This next car comes as a tip from Dave in Tampa who writes: This has got to be a mistake, right? A broken odometer maybe? If that’s really the miles this should be on a dealership floor reminding people how cool VW used to be. Or has the Find this 1985 Volkswagen Cabriolet offered for […]
This next listing starts with a few simple words from the seller: Hey guys, purchased this car on bring a trailer a few months ago. Relized will not have much time to enjoy it. So looking to sell it. Ooof, that’s not good. The idea of buying a classic car on one of those expensive […]
This next Jaguar reminds me of those cool Baur Targa conversions of mid 80s BMWs, and at first I guessed that Karosserie Baur might have had something to do with the quasi fixed convertible roof setup (ask the guys at Baurspotting for more deets!), but the custom work was done on a body in white […]
This next car is something that’ll get you attention wherever you go. Good or bad…I dunno. But a Speedster version of the Cabriolet makes sense when you consider the Porsche-Volkswagen relationship from the early days and the success of Porsche’s 356 Speedster. Execution on this one is interesting, but the concept is solid. Find this […]
At first glance the asking price for this next car might seem a smidge high given the seller’s statement that the “car stalled/ran out of gas in 2015” and “been sitting since”. While we would all love to drive on the same tank of gas since 2015 (mostly because that gas only cost 1/5th of […]
A few years ago a friend asked for recommendations for a late model 4 seat convertible and as I did the requisite research, I discovered that there aren’t that many convertibles with back seats. They do exist and, oddly enough, Mercedes-Benz built quite a few in the past few years with its S-Class, E-Class, C-Class […]
of the Golf platform (Golf hatch/coupe/sedan/GTI) and that was certainly the case in 1986 when this Golf Cabrio was born. It was sold alongside the Mk2, but sits on a Mk1 chassis and is one of the nicer preserved Cabrios you’ll find on craigslist. Find this 1986 Volkswagen Cabriolet offered for $12,500 in New Canaan, CT via craigslist. Tip from Cory.
I have to admit that I’ve had a soft spot for the front-engine water cooled Porsches from the 70s/80s/90s for a while…or maybe that’s a soft spot in my head…I dunno. What I do know is that my head would enjoy the California sunshine when I’m cruising around in one of the prettiest cars ever to come from Stuttgart and of the 2248 convertibles that were imported into North America between 1992 and 1995, this isn’t a bad way to go. Find this 1994 Porsche 968 Cabrio offered for $18500 in Newport, RI via craigslist. Tip from Cory.
Most cars have a bell shaped popularity curve, but have you ever noticed that some cars have almost a step function of popularity — one minute they are all over the road and then suddenly they all just up and vanish. This seems to have been the case for the legendary Volkswagen Mk 3.5 Cabrio […]
