This next car exudes class like only a big executive sedan designed by famed French mustache enthusiast Paul Bracq could do. The (fingers crossed original) powder blue paint, period correct Cali black plates (XMX would have originally be released for a car in 1969) and shockingly low odometer reading (35000?) paint the picture of a car that has been babied and is ready for someone to drive with kid gloves. Let’s hope the reality of a test drive matches the pure vision of automotive nirvana in my head. Happy Bracq Friday everyone. This next beast is a continuation of our Bracq Friday spectacular from yesterday — a festival of the best stuff from French born automotive legend Paul Bracq. The W110 fintail Mercedes-Benz was an evolution of the older W120 Ponton shape, but added little “fins” on the rear quarters and was more modern in its shape […]
This next car is a celebration of Bracq Friday — a festival of the best stuff from French born automotive legend Paul Bracq. I know the days of getting a running/driving car for $500 are long behind us…and $500 will barely get you the parts to do your own brake job on a late model car…but […]
Get ready for Bracq Friday. Yes, you read that correctly, here at Daily Turismo, we use the day after Turkey day to celebrate French mustache enthusiast and car designer and artist Paul Bracq in a celebration that is known worldwide as Bracq Friday. Paul Bracq is a French born mustache enthusiast who created the graceful […]
This next car is a continuation of our Bracq Friday spectacular from yesterday — a festival of the best stuff from French born automotive legend Paul Bracq. The E23 7-series was released in 1977 as the first BMW to wear the 7XX designation and as a replacement for the aging E3 New Six platform. The […]
Welcome back to another feature in our Bracq Friday spectacular — a celebration of the best cars from Frenchman Paul Bracq. This next car doesn’t have an exterior that was penned by our favorite French car designer, but he was head of interior design for Peugeot when this car was released and contributed to that […]
The E24 generation BMW 6-series is a paradigm of the expression “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” — because the model lasted from 1976 through 1989 — a 13 year lifespan of mostly unchanged engineering during the malaise era that was almost unmatched. It is, of course, yet another example of a brilliant design […]
Some people spend the day after Thanksgiving in a Turkey meat induced food coma, some people shop till they drop in person, and still others shop till their cell phones run out of battery…but here at Daily Turismo take a different approach. Instead of celebrating Black Friday, we celebrate Bracq Friday — a festival of […]
Happy Thanksgiving to all the DT readers, motorheads, freaks, geeks, and Baldi Frog fans out there in cyberspace. We are taking the day off to eat some turkey, but will be back tomorrow with a Bracq Friday special that will make your mustache quiver with anticipation.
The Mercedes-Benz W114 occupies one of those weird niches in the classic car world – it’s old enough to be gazed upon fondly through the tint of nostalgia, yet not particularly revered among Euro car guys. Perhaps it’s because it’s the successor of the hipster-cool Heckflosse / Fintail sedans, but the predecessor of the granola […]
