The Tii version of BMW’s fabulous 2002 sport sedan only adds a few doodads to the basic 2002, but it almost doubles the value of the vehicle due to supply/demand/rarity…yadda yadda yadda. So, it is nice to see a 2002Tii offered for around the price of a regular 2002…albeit with some issues. Find this 1974 […]
The BMW 2002tii is a unique kind of temptress. For years, she was a cheap way to get into something unique and sporty, but then prices took off and people started demanding silly money for the tii version and regular 2002 alike. But recently, I’ve seen more and more reasonably priced tiis and each one […]
Astute readers may remember the little Golf yellow ’73 BMW 2002 we like to call der Schmetterling, which my wife picked up for a song last year. We haven’t had any project car updates on it because, well…it’s not really a project, yet. We’ve been driving it, enjoying it, and doing a minimum of tweaking […]
The ragged and crusty 2002 we posted last week (plus the stealth fighter version) got me thinking that there has to be a better way to pick up a classic BMW New Class, perhaps with a lower chance of getting tetanus or hep C. And then it hit me…get a 1976 example…at least if you […]
We just featured a crusty BMW 2002 the other day, but this next one is considerably better looking [arguable! -ed. CFlo] and comes with a spare 2002Tii engine/gearbox. The asking price is higher, but if the paint isn’t totally fried and it is mechanically in decent shape, it could be a sweet deal. Find this 1969 […]
The round tail light (roundie) BMW 1600/2000/2002 is a classic by any yardstick, so it isn’t often that you see one that runs/drives offered for less than a stack of 10 Benjamins…but here we are. Find this 1971 BMW 2002 offered for $900 in Bremerton, WA. Tip from Zach Z. The seller admits that the […]
We’ve covered BMW’s classic sport compact sedan, the 2002, in myriad instances over the past three years. We don’t dip much into tii territory unless they are free, because those fuel injected high spec cars are well out of DT budget caps. However, the basic carbureted 2002 represents a great value – they drive nearly identically […]
Nothing better to do this Saturday morning than gawk at other people’s cars? Yeah, us neither. That’s why we’ll be heading down to the 2nd-ever Coffee & Cars with Pelican Parts, a low-stress gathering of SoCal’s finest Euro Trash. Come join us, have a brew (of the hot caffeinated morning variety), let us gawk at […]
I’ve had this theory in the past few years that if you can pickup a running, driving classic that isn’t rusted out for less than $4,000, you are gonna do fine when you sell it. It doesn’t matter if it is a Borgward Isabella, SVO Mustang, VW Beetle, or BMW 2002 — there is certain […]
