1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro 4WD. 5-Speed Manual Transmission.
This is a very, very rare car. Extremely low 19,258 documented miles.
This
is a European Model that was legally imported into the US last year.
Only 19,258 documented miles since new. The European metric
speedometer/odometer was changed to the US one at 29,419 km last year
and is included with the car if desired. Copies of the original European
service records are also available to the buyer. Please look at the
pictures provided. I will also include a virtually Brand-New set of
Winter Snow Tires with the car.
This car was built for the VW at
its Austria plant, it features a rigid body on frame construction,
permanent Syncro AWD System, and has amazing off-road capabilities.
Handles great at the Autobahn and those twisty European roads as well.
These things were the sweethearts of the Alps back in the day, not many
of them were made, and they are now extremely coveted items even in
Europe. They are becoming increasingly hard to find even in decent
roadworthy, let alone as clean as this one, as most were driven into the
ground and many had vanished into the Eastern Europe and met its fate
there.
Garage-kept in Europe since day one. Very clean inside and
out. Never smoked in. No kids. No pets. Just Serviced. Brand New Tires.
Runs, Drives, and Looks GREAT! Free and Clear Title in hand. Spotless
CarFax and Autocheck reports. Please feel free to come and inspect this
car prior to bidding.

I've never seen one of these in person, I didn't realize they sat that high. Definitely a unicorn, would get a lot of attention at a VW meet. Nice find.
Kilgore — yes, these things are crazy elevated, in fact I was going to make some observation about this thing being lifted 40 days after it was resurrected, but I thought that nobody would understand what I was prattling on about…as usual.

Seller has been selling it for months now. Multiple no reserve auctions. Guessing he hasn't got his price. Definitely a unicorn though.

From the ebay ad verbiage. "This car was built for the VW at its Austria plant, it features a rigid body on frame construction"
Umm…sure looks like a unibody Golf from the pictures. Still a sweet car, unfortunately one you really wouldn't want to use as intended.
