Super Sammy: 1986 Suzuki Samurai

This next car advertisement comes with the exclamation “THE SUPER SAMMY” in the title, and my brain first went to thoughts of salami, pepperoni, mortadella, and mozzarella surrounded by a hard roll…but this next thing is not edible, but it will put a smile on your face because it has a 440 cubic inch Dodge V8 and a gigantic fuel cell in the back seat. Find this 1986 Suzuki Samurai offered for $2900 in Oceanside, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

This Sammy was built by the guys at Hot Rod Garage, it has a Dodge 440 and 727 trans, new wheels and tires, is pretty wild and ready for a new home! You don’t need a Hemi, LS or Coyote to have fun.

Too bad that smile on the buyers face wont be visible in their closed casket funeral. When these first came out, my dad advocated buying one for road use if you could source a set of deeply dished wheels or spacers to place the rubber outside the fender wells. inexpensively /effectively lowering the center of balance. Then he saw how one had fared in a highway collision and stopped making that recommendation.. For offroad, these are said to have a spectacular reputation. dont see a 440 being of benefit out there.
The 440 just adds death to this death trap.
With that much setback, putting sticky tires on this could allow the Samurai to roll over backwards as well as sideways.
I like it, though – just needs a proper cage.
Needs wheelie bars.
What could possibly go wrong?
You missed the photos of the passenger side of this vehicle. The passenger door is ajar because of structural damage – which also may be why there is no rear door / tailgate. Its either been rolled or hit pretty hard.
I think this *really* needs a roll cage.
Roadkill approved.
