Suicide Squad: 1940 Dodge Deluxe

The other day as my dentures were being cleaned, I spent the better part of an hour telling some young whippersnapper that classic old cars with pontoon fenders and suicide doors don’t just grow on trees. Everybody wants some new fangled horseless carriage that’s got self canceling turn signals and a hydrogen propulsion system…but they ain’t fer me. I need a car with a clutch pedal, ashtray (preferably one for each passenger) and an AM radio. Find this 1940 Dodge Deluxe Sedan offered for $6000 in Walnut Creek, CA via markbook mincemeat. Tip from John W.

Has been stored either in garage or shed for past 40 years where my dad first brought it down from Canada. Mileage is original. Hasn’t been driven in 5 years but drove well as my dad the mechanic took good care of all his vintage cars. Located in San Mateo.

This could be a good daily driver. An extra 50 horsepower from the flathead six used in the ’59 Sport Fury (really) and disc brakes and a dual master cylinder to not be a hazard in traffic. Good price for a well maintained car that averaged 400 miles a year.
Sorry, not the Sport Fury, only the Belvedere.
