Strange Estate: 1969 Reliant Scimitar GTE
Everyone associates the Reliant marque with the suicide machine that has three wheels and a penchant for presenting belly, but Reliant (which somehow missed being lumped into the titanic train wreck known as British Leyland (Austin, Land Rover, Leyland, MG, Jaguar, Mini, Morris, Rover, & Triumph)) built cars that could be driven around a corner without tipping…but expect some challenges with parts availability and general reliability. Find this 1969 Reliant Scimitar GTE here on eBay bidding for $3950 with a few hours to go, located in Yreka, CA via craigslist. Tip from ME.

Here is something you dont often see in the States. NO RESERVE! 1969 Reliant Scimitar GTE SE5. 3.0 Litre English Ford V-6, 4 speed manual Transmission. This is a project car, needing restoration. Engine turns freely with key. Two door Sporting Estate wagon. Tube headers, RH drive, Fiberglass body. Rare, interesting and innovative for it’s day. Stored for several years. Will need diagnostic work, repair and restoration. Front seats and rims are not stock. Rear hatch window broken, other glass good. Body has some damage, stress cracks. Air Cleaner missing. A lot of the interior is usable, note how nice the gauges are. Letters are still quite white. Note photos of frame, steering, and suspension. Does not appear to be much corrosion compared to many of these cars. Car is sold As is, Where is in all regards. Thank you for considering this very cool and unusual project. Please give it a good home.

Never seen one of these before. Diggin the exterior lines, but that interior/under the hood… uhh… bonnet looks scary.
I've seen a few these over the years but you don't really see too many unless you go looking for odd stuff. Great lines, I'm a resto-mod fan myself and would love to see this done up with a modern powertrain, new wheels etc.
“Princess Anne had one of those”
Sorry.. had to
Does it have shooting brakes ?
