Starts, Doesn’t Drive: 1969 Triumph GT6+

This next car at first appeared to be one of those “this won’t last” postings, where the asking price is so far below market share that it’ll be picked up in minutes. However, the words “starts and runs but does not drive at the moment” put an interesting spin on the value proposition. I still think the asking price is low enough to justify the needed work, but maybe the DT commentators disagree? As a TR6 owner, I think he’s aspiring in the wrong direction. I’d definitely trade my TR6 for the later GT6 with the revised kammback styling and ‘safer’ rear suspension.
The GT6+ (a.k.a. Mk II) should have the revised rotoflex rear suspension, so no worries there.
Having done the clutch on my 70 Spitfire multiple times back in the day, this is most certainly not a hard job – perhaps slightly more difficult having a roof overhead while pulling the transmission out via the interior (great invention, a removable cardboard cover over the transmission). 5K is bargain fun.
