This makes me want to do a deep dive into the mechanical properties of diamond plate aluminum, but I would think that any advantages would be negated by having the diamonds facing the frame unless the builder was really careful to have the rivets only pass through the thick parts ( diamonds ) of the plate.
Oh, I see that it is engine turning / polishing. Never mind, still those photos are at least two years old, from another ad, maybe another owner, maybe a scam? Who knows?
All the work invested in this project and they use a single carb, pollution controlled engine. Parts to convert to dual carb etc would be dirt cheap.
