Space Cruiser: 1985 Toyota Van LE
Toyota sold their awesome TownAce/MasterAce R20/R30 van with the names Toyota Space Cruiser in parts of Europe, but for whatever reason it was called the Toyota Van for the US Market. Really? I demand European import Space Cruiser badges for my rear drive oddball! Find 1985 Toyota Van LE offered for $4999 in San Francisco, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.
From the seller:
If there is a cleaner deluxe van out there, I haven’t seen it. This is the Luxury Edition with all the bells and whistles.

Power mirrors,
Sunroof,
Huge moonroof,

The nice rims.

Front and rear air conditioning.
New stereo with bluetooth, usb etc.
It’s so effing great. I’m serious. I love it.
It has few very minor dings. Hard to believe this thing is 32 years old. I was planning on making this a full time camper but I just couldn’t bring myself to change anything since it was preserved so well. Plus I have another 1987 and I bought a Ram Promaster. I can’t be a van hoarder as much as I wanna be.
But, yeah, I’m sad to see it go. I have been in denial about it. I parked it in the driveway in late 2015 then forgot, then neglected to renew registration. It sat for a year and I finally realized I need to let it go to someone who will use and appreciate it for how awesome it is. It will need to be smogged. It passed last time so… Still starts right up and drives great. If I get it smogged and registered myself, I’ll likely want to keep it. I am avoiding doing so to avoid the temptation.
The pictures don’t do it justice. Come take a look. I will be lowering the price once a week until it is sold.
See a better way to go cruising? tips@dailyturismo.com
their US marketing group failed on this one. Space Cruiser would have been WAY cooler.
Totally agree…thought of this the first time I saw one..

That's the Lost in Space Chariot for those who were not around in the 60's.
All you need is some Conehead relatives and white tunics that button to one side and off you go into Robert Heinlein land
The problem with these: pain in the arse to work on the motor, even to do simple stuff…
My parents were SOOOO close to buying one of these in late 1983 and were about to pull the trigger when the local Dodge dealer got the very first Caravan in town on his lot. They bought that instead. I was bummed, as the Toyota was infinitely cooler.
Maybe not as cool as a previa, but the refrigerator is cool.
You can have your cake and ice cream too!
