I certainly see the Citroen inspiration, but would not limit their French cribbing to just
2CV. Ami & even H-Van are certainly present in this cartoony design.
It looks like they finished designing the interior and forgot to include the stereo or HVAC controls. Then when they realized the mistake, they grabbed something out of a random parts bin.
