Some Welding Required: 1972 DeTomaso Pantera

I really want to love this next car because the DeTomaso Pantera is one of my dream cars and this one is cheap…but it might be more of a nightmare before it is done…just take a close look at some of the photos and judge for yourself.  Find this 1972 DeTomaso Pantera offered for $25,000 in Ft Myers, FL via craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

For the uninitiated, the the DeTomaso Pantera (Italian for Panther) was a Tom Tjaarda (notable
for penning the VW Karmann Ghia, Ferrari 365 GT California, Fiat 124
Spider, Ford Maverick, 82′ Chrysler LeBaron, etc) designed coupe that
used a mid engine mounted Ford 351 Cleveland V8 to push around its
Italian built body. Prices are healthy…so why is this one so cheap…it doesn’t look that bad on the outside.

Ah, there it is.  This thing looks like it was used as a daily driver by Swap Thing for a few decades, and that is what we can see.  Imagine what lurks under the rust you can see in the unibody Pantera monocoque…but at $25k asking, this could be worth your time if you know somebody who can weld.
