Six Ten Sabre: 1996 Ford Mustang

You know those riddles that start with a question like; what has four legs in the morning, two in the…yes, those. I’ve got one for you: What has Mini Cooper headlights, Jaguar S-Type front grill, fenders from a Dr Seuss illustration, and tail lights from a Volvo XC90? Haha, stumped eh? If you got this right…you probably need help. Find this 1996 Ford Mustang Six Ten Sabre offered for $29,900 buy-it-now or make offer located in Sunnyvale, CA via eBay.

Yes, this car costs more than the typical DT feature — but it is close enough to the $25k price limit and I’ve got a waiver for one funky expensive car per week. The seller mentions that it is the only one in the world and a quick visit to SixTenCars.com redirects us to a facebook page that lists SixTenCars as a Cars/Limo Service/Wedding Planner. So, yeah, we’ve found the right place. It appears that only one of these was built, but Autoblog and other internet outlets picked up on this car when it was painted silver in 2011. At least, I think this is the same car…

From the seller:
A custom concept car like no other. A picture word 1000 words! How unique is this car? Well there are only one in the world. Flowing front fenders like 1930 style cars. No door handles (you open with remote). You can show/hide number plate by pushing remote button and it slides in under the car! Backlights from a Volvo XC90 SUV I turned 90 degrees. Front lights from a Mini Cooper. Front grille from a Jaguar. Came together pretty good right? Built completely in fiberglass (and only thing on exterior body that is in metal is the windshield frame). Electric folding top. Includes a custom made tonneau cover in fiberglass that cover the two backseats so it looks like a two seater. Painted in same color as car. I mainly drive this car around town so probably less than 1000 miles since it was built in 2013. Used a Ford Mustang as starter car. Got the equipment you expect on modern car e.g., air conditioning, cruise control. bluetooth stereo. Custom leather seats. Smogged and street legal in California. Sold as-is.

Hmm… not sure if I should love it or hate it?
It’s got some funk to it for sure. I’d rather have this than a regular mustang from 1996, but with a v6 I’d rather some other sucker have this.
Love it for the creative XC90 tail light treatment…hate everything else.
Perfect car for a low-budget movie based on the song Hotel California.
Who would do that to a Morgan Aero?
Oh.
Well, at least it’s not pink.
Actually, can you imagine how awesome this would look painted pink?
What a business opportunity! “Nice little shop you have here, it would be a shame if that pink car out there parked in front of it all the time”
Wait a minute. I’m good with the whole Buick theme, but this doesn’t look at all like a (Le)Sabre
Nuke it from space.
A V6 with a slush-box…. gag a maggot. 🤮
