Seller Submission: 1997 Jaguar XK8 LS1 Swap

The X100 generation Jaguar XK8 was released in 1996 on a platform shared with the Aston Martin DB7.  It was a much more modern looking car than the XJS is replaced and looks dead gorgeous in drop top spec if you ask me. What could make it better?  An engine that is more powerful, more reliable, and cheaper to maintain mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox?  Find this 1997 Jaguar XK8 LS1 T56 here on eBay offered for $14,000 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Akron, OH. Seller submission from Zhong.

This XK8 started life as a simple drop top with a 290 horsepower 4.0 liter V8 mated to a 5-speed autobox, but is now powered by a monster 5.7L V8, 6-speed manual, wears 20 inch forged 3-piece wheels, an ’06 XKR body kit, air bag suspension, 660 watt stereo — and countless custom fabricated parts to make it work together.

Under the hood is an LS1 borrowed from a 2002 Camaro that has been upgraded with a high lift camshaft, and custom headers.  It should be good for a few more ponies than the original 325 horsepower factory spec, and it should be a blast when combined with the 6-speed T56 gearbox.
