Save The Fuegos: 1984 Renault Fuego
Few cars elicit the same degree of guffawed snickers as a French built car sold in AMC dealers with the Spanish name for fire. Yeah. The one car that is more Rodney Dangerfield than even Pontiac’s Fiero…the Renault Fuego. It is a car that was loved by a few, misunderstood by many, and is all but extinct today…so forget the whales, we need to band together and save the Fuegos. Find this 1984 Renault Fuego offered for $3975 in New Albany, OH via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Up for sale is my 84′ Renault Fuego. It’s a very clean and original rust free car with 129k miles. 5 speed manual transmission. I’m the fourth owner and it was bought new in Indiana and used as daily driver by the first owner. The second owner was the original owners neighbor who had it for a couple years before selling it to a friend of mine that uses cars for movies. He however, had the car stored and it was never used in any movies. I saw the car one day and had to have it! It’s a total time warp car and a rare and unusual one at that. It runs and drives great and was always loved and cared for. I’m looking to move it on to someone who loves it as much as we did. I love talking cars but I’m a busy guy so serious inquires only, please. Serious buyers can PM me or text/call show contact info
. The car will not be taken for test drives if the roads are wet or have salt but can be seen in bad weather as it’s obviously stored inside…once again serious buyers only, please. Price is firm at $3975.

By coincidence, I watched a Motorweek Retro Review of the Fuego Turbo on YouTube just yesterday. The reviewers loved it; positively gushed. Ironically, they predicted it, through its combination of price, performance, and excellent road manners, to be a huge success in North America. :/
It actually made me a bit curious about the experience. 🙂
These are awesome, but totally misunderstood. A friend had one in high school and it was soooo cool. If I was still in Ohio I would be buying this today.
Needs 2 Cherry Bomb's to Light my Fire….!
At one time these were a hot item for transplanting the engine and transmission into Lotus Europas. It’s basically the same but more developed.
Is “uses cars for movies” some kind of urban dictionary thing I’ll wish I hadn’t looked up? I’m already having time-of-the-virus nightmares—it was bone saws last night—don’t need more fuel.
A bone saw is really just an expensive medical grade wood saw.
Back in '87 I was taking a break from college and living on my dad's tiny sailboat in Long Beach. I needed a set of wheels and was torn between a nice Triumph Spitfire and a Turbo Fuego with a lovely vinyl Webasto sliding roof and a leather interior that smelled like a new leather jacket. It was a difficult choice. And so I bought the …
Datsun 240z I found in the LA Times classifieds for about the same money. Whew, that was a close call!
