Running Man Movie Truck: 1975 Ford Econoline Van

In a dystopian future, a wrongly convicted man fights for survival on a televised game show where prisoners face lethal challenges for a chance at freedom. As he battles through the deadly obstacles, he uncovers a corrupt system, determined to reveal the truth behind the brutal spectacle. No, this isn’t the latest Fox television show or an “MTV Real World Ukraine” spin-off, this is the 1987 feature-length film Running Man starring Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as Ben Richards. Today’s feature vehicle is a movie car from that movie and while it only appeared in a short sequence, it does appear to be ready for some post-apocalyptic shenanigans. For some reason this has me wondering if I could add a trailer hitch to use it as a racing support / tow vehicle. It probably violates the cardinal rule of towing though: never tow a car with a vehicle that has a greater chance of breaking down than the car being towed.
Not running, man. Ironic. It probably wouldn’t take much to get it going.
That is the orneriest Econoline van I’ve ever seen!
The top photo initially really looked to me like a Midjourney or Stable Diffusion AI rendering – jussst real enough to demand much closer scrutiny.
This would be the perfect vehicle for dropping my kids off at their junior high.
