Ramcharger by Dodge: 1979 Plymouth Trail Duster

There is something special about finding a badge swapped version of a common car. You take all of the good qualities of the mass market common classic like parts availability, pricing, and community support and add a dash of rarity and uniqueness to it. A Dodge Ramcharger is cool, but a Plymouth Trail Duster is wicked. Find this 1979 Plymouth Trail Duster offered for $11,499 in Albuquerque, NM via craigslist. Tip from Hank.

You will not find another opportunity to purchase a 1979 Plymouth Trailduster (an exact copy of the Dodge Ramcharger). This 42 year old classic has been in my possession for 23 years and it has put a smile on my face every time I’ve walked by it. The top is removable and in great shape…and of course the very cool, soft top, is included as well. The truck’s body is in incredible condition and the newly rebuilt engine and carburetor run great. The dash and interior will need a little TLC…but you couldn’t ask for a cooler start to what can be your dream vehicle. The ONLY reason I am selling it, is because we are downsizing and I’ll no longer have a garage space for it. Good luck, this amazing and very rare truck won’t last long.

These things are great off road. My dad knew a guy with a ram charger that they put a shrimp boat radar on the top and some other fancy gizmos to map the edges of the oil fields. There was just enough room with all the equipment for 6-8 year old me to cram in the back for the occasional field mapping run. Mostly I remember wearing my Hulk t-shirt and lots of gamma ray talking between them giving me high hopes of huge muscles.
