Quirky French: 1984 Renault Fuego

This next car comes as a tip from Dave in Tampa, who writes: I’ve loved the shape of the Fuego since the beginning, always found it handsome, and no more quirky than any of the Japanese compacts at the time. I will admit that I appreciate the styling of the Fuego after a few bottles of French wine, but I can say that today’s example has a level of scruffiness that matches its basic price tag. Special bonus, the tape deck works! Find this 1984 Renault Fuego offered for $2999 in Ypsilanti, MI via fuegobook marketkey.

Just pulled out of storage, starts good and idles beautifully. This has been my project car for the last few years but it’s time to move on. It’s been a really fun car to take out and turns many heads. The car has a fully rebuilt transmission, new rear brakes and drums, fresh coolant flush, new thermostat, GTA Ronal rims, aftermarket Bosch electric cooling fans. The radio, tape deck, and equalizer work great as well. The ragtop does work but needs a new seal, front passenger flex brake line needs replacement. The car has a ground issue that I have not attended to and the transmission is on a toggle switch to shift the solenoids, but it shifts smooth. Car came from the Tennessee area and has 37,000 original miles.
Additionally a complete 1982 Fuego parts car is included.
CLEAN TITLE for both cars
Parts car has same full leather interior and 2 spare transmissions are included as well. There are quite a few hard to find parts on this car as it is mostly complete and clean front windshield
I’m also including my collection of shop manuals for the car as pictured.
Going off to college and using the funds to help with finances. Bring a trailer. Cash sale.

Shifting gears with a toggle switch makes this just as cool as the electric overdrive on my TR6. Or that’s what I’d tell myself if I were cool enough to bring this Franco-car home.
