The B7 generation of Audi’s A4 platform was built from 2004 through 2008 on a compact executive sedan chassis that was designed to compete with the BMW 3-series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The S4 version of the A4 was the hotrod version designed to compete with BWM’s M3 and Mercedes-Benz AMG C-whatever. Powering the S4 is a 4.2 liter DOHC V8 that pushes 339 horsepower into all four wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
