Pole Barn Garage: 1972 Mercury Grand Marquis Ranchero

This next car started out as a Mercury Grand Marquis that went into the shop as a land yacht and came out as a truck, courtesy of the mad geniuses at Pole Barn Garage (video here). This one-of-one custom creation takes the spirit of the El Camino and smashes it together with 19 feet of Nixon-era Mercury luxury, powered by a smog-choked 460ci big block that allegedly burns “barely” any oil. The roof’s gone, the trunk’s now a bed, and the whole thing is dipped in a pale shade of Caterpillar yellow with a red interior that makes zero sense but somehow works. Originally was a sedan and is now a ute/truck. It’s got the original 460/7.5l big block burns barely and oil and has a 3 speed C6 automatic transmission.

Haven’t done anything to it except to make sure it still runs and drives just fine
