Plus Sized: 1964 Dodge Custom 880 Wagon

There are a few facts of life that you can always count on.  One, is that the tooth fairy gets less generous with each tooth, and another is that you can’t beat a good looking classic long roof wagon offered for a reasonable price.  Find this 1964 Dodge Custom 880 Wagon offered for $9,000 in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA via craigslist.  Tip from LT3k.

The Dodge Custom 88 was a high end full-sized vehicle sold in the Chrysler lineup starting in 1962 as a replacement for the now defunct DeSoto Fireflite.  It wasn’t just the Fireflite that was gone, but the entire DeSoto lineup, and Dodge borrowed heavily from the Chrysler Newport to build a full sized car to compete with Chevrolet after accidentally downsizing the entire Dodge fleet.

Power in this 1964 candidate comes from a 383 cubic inch V8 that would have been rated at 305 horsepower and 410 ft-lbs of torque when new.  The three speed “push button” automatic wont make for the sportiest of driving experiences, but it make the best of the monstrous amount of torque.
