Parts: 2005 Pontiac GTO LS2 Engine/Transmission

Instead of starting with some penalty box slow car and asking you to find an engine/transmission to make it better, let’s go the other way around.  Here is a 2005 Pontiac GTO that has been ridden hard and put away wet — and more importantly it is an engine/transmission that needs a new home found here on eBay offered for $5,200 buy-it-now or make offer, located in Taylor, MI with a few days to go.

The fourth generation Pontiac GTO (2004-2006) was actually a rebadged 3rd generation Holden Monaro, built and assembled in Australia.  The GTO may have been criticized for having bland styling, but its body-cladding-free look was a welcome sight at showrooms filled with fifth generation Grand Ams.

The Chevy LS2 under the hood is a 6.0 liter V8 rated at 400 horsepower and mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.  The best part about this wrecked car deal is that it comes with everything you need to transform the donor car, ECU, harness, gauge cluster, shifter and things like the seats that might be handy.  Now…where does it belong?

There isn’t enough free cheese in the world to convince me to daily drive a stock Renault Rodeo (like this one offered here on eBay for $6,400 reserve-not-met) — but an LS2 powered Rodeo would be excellent.
