Parked In Redline: 2000 Honda S2000

Prices for Honda’s insane 9000 rpm 4-cylinder powered sports car have been very high in the past few years, so I’ve got to assume that a sub $10k S2000 is going to have quite a few problems. How about a bazillionty miles, a nasty plasti dip paint job, a salvage title, and a jerky key switch? Yup, that’ll do it. But mark my words — like busted $10k Porsche 911s littering craigslist a few decades ago, this will be worth considerably more in the future. Find this 2000 Honda S2000 offered for $9999 in Hayward, CA via craigslist.

Hi guys,First off, salvage title due to theft Details below.
Up for sale is my 2000 Honda S2000 with 152k original miles. The original color is silver, but has been spray painted with gray plasti dip. The plasti dip job was not performed professionally, therefore it has many flaws. It looks ok from 20 feet away, but as you approach the car, you’ll be able to tell it was done with spray cans in a garage. If you want it done properly, you’ll have to purchase more cans to add extra layers of plasti dip, or have it professionally dipped ($800?)
As mentioned, the car was issued a salvage title because it was stolen and recovered (Carfax snippet below). The thief broke the immobilizer and connected his own ECU to bypass (I’ll include his ECU as well). I simply purchased a used immobilizer and had a shop sync it with the new ECU. No other parts were replaced or repaired. The ignition slot to put the key in is a little jerky, but I’ll include a new one with the car for you to install.
All the maintenance is up to date. It has a newer soft top (about 2 years old). It runs great without any problems – no mechanical issues at all (AC, lights, transmission, etc. all work great). No dash lights at all.

*** Bonus ***
-Registration paid until Nov 2022
-Smog check completed
-Oil/filter change just completedFlaws:
-Bad plasti dip paint job
-Seats were spray painted with vinyl interior spray paint (easily removable though)
-No radio
-Jerky key slot in ignition (again, new one provided to you with sale)
-Headlights/taillights need polishingI had the title in hand, but a deal fell through after the buyer signed the title (we were at the registration store and the buyer didn’t have enough money…). Therefore, I’ll have to go with you to the registration location to sign over the car to you. Or, if you prefer, wait until I receive the reissued title (around Feb 7th) and we can do the transaction then.
I’m looking to get only $10k cash (no trades or payments). Feel free to Email, text or call show contact info . I can show you the car anytime in Hayward. Look on Craigslist, Ebay, etc. anywhere in the country and you won’t find a better deal on a Honda S2000!
