Oprah Approved: 2006 Pontiac G6
It was 19 years ago this week when Oprah launched the “you get a car, you get a car, everybody gets a car” meme. And everybody in the studio audience did indeed get a free car, a Pontiac G6 that came with a full tank of gas and a $6000 tax bill. It wasn’t the giant marketing success that Pontiac and Oprah thought it might be because Pontiac shut their doors for good in 2010 and Oprah faded into oblivion…or continued to make a kajillion dollars a year shilling cheap goods to afford her lavish lifestyle, I’m not sure, to be honest I cut the cord on daytime TV years ago and Oprah could very well be on the 24 hr cooking network or in prison for all I know. ANYWAY, Oprah certainly doesn’t drive a G6, but you could for a considerable amount less than the taxes due the poor saps who got one of these new.
