Old Fromage: 1975 Peugeot 604

The Peugeot 604 was released for the 1975 model year with much fanfare and Pininfarina styling. It was a good looking car that was immediately praised for its “calm elegance”, but sales never met the expectations for an executive luxury car from a European marque. Perhaps the 604 wasn’t special enough to justify the additional price over a 504 from which it borrowed most of its mechanical parts and PRV6 engine. Find this 1975 Peugeot 604 offered for $3999 in Rancho Peñasquitos, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

I am hoping there is an enthusiast local to San Diego that would appreciate a Pininfarina styled European/French market Peugeot 604 that is CA titled and SMOG Exempt. I have the title in hand and keep the car garaged. It is a 4speed manual and a rugged and capable runner/local commuter showing 86XXX kilometers. The exterior and interior are very presentable with factory badges, yellow headlights/euro bumpers and pretty decent paint and body panels. The front seats and worn, but still comfortable. The car is turnkey and ready to be driven off by new owner. It could use some refining and a patient and understanding caretaker. Tires and brakes are new on mint condition steel wheels. Standard equipment sunroof/power windows/original Blaupunkt radio/switches/knobs/. This car has not been abused or hacked up and was supposedly imported to the United States in 2016. Its NOT perfect, but its got panache, style and character and still turns heads after 48 years. I understand it’s a novelty car with a limited audience of interest so I’m asking a fair $3999.
