OEM Built Limo: 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Limousine

A custom stretch limousine (like the ones that use the Lincoln Towncar as the chassis) are a dodgy proposal once they get 100k miles and 30 years on the frame. The workmanship of a custom car manufacturer isn’t horrible, but it is not the same as an OEM built classic. So if you want an old 80s limo, skip the Crown Vics, Bentleys, Hummers, and instead look for the factory built German V123 (built on the W123 chassis) and enjoy the slow experience of luxury, class, and style. Find this 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D Limousine offered for $15,000 in Los Angeles, CA via brokeface langmarket.

I want to see a drag race between this Mercedes and a VW Microbus. Tough call as to the winner.
Some limousines are purchased by owners who wish to sit in the back in luxury, while a chauffeur drives them or drives a very important person in the luxurious back seat.
Some limousines are purchased by owners of hotels who wish to shuttle people to the airport or the train station without the embarrassment of a van parked in front of the hotel, or perhaps for use in a very slow funeral procession.
I believe that this is the second variety.
That back seating just screams (cue the late Sam Kinison) ”So you’re too cheap to take a damn taxi to the airport are you? Well, I’ll show you! You’re gonna have to sit on this uncomfortable upholstered plank and slowly make your way to the airport. Maybe even miss your flight you cheapskate!”
Totally agree, Hugh.
But… pull out the middle row of seats, replace the back seats with (reupholstered) OEM stock seats, and you’ve got a pretty interesting and very comfy limo for chugging around town.
Plenty of room to put your feet up, or for those purebred greyhounds to curl up.

My experiences with Mercedes-Benz gas and one turbo diesel have been good with about five cars that served me well, especially the diesel when I was traveling via the interstate to various courts of law so I had to be there. If the seller can work with me, I would be a possible player here. Thank you kindly. 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D 4dr Sedan 5-cyl. 3005cc/83hp Diesel FI.
Depending on a willing seller options depending on status of private or steward for another to sell, the price should be adjusted for age of car and mileage without history of repairs known. Thank you kindly folks. I like GOLD, as well but in 1994, we leased a gold Cadillac El Dorado, #Northstar engine potent and powerful, just mentioning as a car and truck and boat and bulldozer lover. In the past, now, a get started again vehicle with a 1987 Cadillac Brougham, daily driver, like new inside and trunk, but 36 year old car losing pain and most of vinyl is off the roof. Otherwise, a “cherry” puff.
