Monster Truckin: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Custom

Marty McFly may have driven Doc Brown’s DeLorean into the past (and then back to the future), but if you watched the film carefully, you will remember that he lusted after a Toyota 4X4 pickup, which Biff was nice enough to wax for him in the end.  Perhaps if Marty had built the original time machine it would look a little bit more like this thing.  Find this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Custom here on eBay with starting bid of $9,999 located in Hickory Flat, MI with 2 days to go.  Tip from Patrick.

It will be some time in the future before you get this monster back on the road, because it is a considerable project. However, if you’ve got the guts, time, and the wherewithal to finish this thing, it is going to take you places.

The donor chassis and drivetrain are from a 1988 Ford Bronco II with a 2.9 liter V6 mated to an automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive.  With only 140 horsepower and those huge Mud Terrain tires, you’ll have a hard time achieving 88 mph without a large runway, but it should be fine for muddin’ or cruisin’.

The seller has more details on the project build from when it started back in 2008 here on rowdysdelorean.com …which is just a re-direct to a BroncoII.org forum build page…but it gives some more clues as to what you might find after you drag this thing home.
