Modern Classic? 1995 Ford Probe GT

The Ford Probe was an interesting attempt by some bean counters at Ford’s Dearborn Headquarters to implement some arcane marketing theory about “giving the kids what they want”…but it didn’t work. The kids didn’t want a front-wheel-drive 4-cylinder basic car that costs as much as a Mustang but wasn’t as raw as a Honda or as reliable as a Toyota. No. What they wanted was a V8 rear-drive car…called the Mustang. Anyway, the Probe failed to displace the classic pony car in Ford’s line-up and went to the discontinued list after the 1997 model year, but a used Probe for a low price is an interesting way to drive differently. Low miles for the year ~ 67,200

Full Disclosure: This car is NOT a show car but a decent 10 footer. With a little bit of repainting or a wrap, this car would look phenomenal.

Originally owned for 25+ years in Michigan by one of the designers on the Probe Team at Ford. It has always been a midwest car, so it does have some small rust areas that can be repaired. I have purchased 2 brand new front fenders and a used sunroof panel with zero rust. They are included with the sale of the car and just need to be painted or wrapped. The clear coat has spider cracks on the hood and headlights as well. This car gets lots of looks, thumbs up on the road, and people asking about it anywhere you go in it.

Has a check engine light that turns on and off while you drive. Haven’t dug into it. Likely just a sensor that isn’t impacting its driving.

Price is semi-firm as it is being listed for what I purchased the car for. No low ball offers considered.
