Mattracks Included: 1996 Daihatsu Hijet

This next car comes as a tip from Matt C who writes: Facebook Marketplace find that popped up: A rather unusual mud toy even by Cartersville, Georgia standards. Indeed, this isn’t your grandfather’s Daihatsu. This thing has been lifted three inches and rides on Mattracks — which means it will go as far as you are willing to deal with the inevitable failures associated with replacing the wheel with about 47 different mechanisms. I’m not saying it won’t be fun…but just watch the Grand Tour when they went to Madagascar. Find this 1996 Daihatsu Hijet offered for $12,500 in Cartersville, GA via facetrack marketank.

Seller’s Description

Hijet mini van 4×4, 5speed with passenger side drive, heat and a/c, 3” lift with lite foot Mattracks. Everything works as it should also have wheels and tires for it. Runs like a sewing machine and all parts can be ordered on line for it. Fun toy will go really good in wet swampy terrain. IF ITS STILL LISTED ITS STILL AVAILABLE!

Given how much power mattstracks take to get moving this must have trouble getting out of it’s own way; but pictures seem to suggest otherwise.
If there is fun to be had driving slow cars fast, this must be a hoot on the level of a barrel of monkeys on meth.
If it had a snowplow attachment I’d be throwing my dead presidents at it.
