I didn't know this until a few days ago but young whipper snappers are turning these into 700-900hp cars by bolting on a big single turbo. They are modifying the rear brakes to accept 15" wheels and run Weld wheels with big slicks. They look brutally fast. This is a hell of a car for $8500
I drove a 750ish HP 5 series using this method and it was a hoot. A nice strong locking dif is needed for ultimate fun. Said car needed a new engine after around 5,000 hard miles with the big turbo setup, but those were some fun 5,000 miles.
Nice car and a colour which does not attract the gendarmes, if I was able to drive at the moment, I would love to buy it and bring it back to snow country.
Didnt fix the rear quarter panel as the insurance company would have given this a salvage title in Cali! The twin turbos are going to be problematic. Simpler is better.!
