Mad Maximus Prime: 1989 Bradley GT

The VW pan based Bradley GT kit car is no stranger to the pages of DT…but you’ll find none stranger on these pages than this next Bradley GT…because the fiberglass body has been grafted to 1989 Toyota Truck chassis, complete with external cooling hoses and external bumpers — it is a sight to behold. The seller even made an awesome video of the car going 4X4ing in the snow. Find this 1989 Bradley GT on a Toyota Truck bidding for $4000 reserve-not-met on ebay with $14,500 buy-it-now located in Aurora, NY. Tip from Kester.

From the seller:
This is a Bradley GT II kit body made for a VW chassis, but It has been mounted on a 1989 Toyota 4×4 truck chassis. I built it last year and have driven it approximately 2,500miles since it was completed. It’s been a lot of fun and gets tons of attention! At time of build I replaced; head gaskets, timing belt, knock sensor, oxygen sensor, stainless steel headers, water pump, ignition cap, rotor, wires, plugs, fuel pump, brakes front and rear, installed a rear limited slip differential, set of BFG 32” tires. It is currently registered in and inspected in NY as The 1989 Toyota truck, other States may have different requirements. It’s currently being driven regularly and has been reliable. Runs and drives good, check engine light is on. The car has some paint blemishes and touch ups that may not be visible in photos. Also have a few videos of the car on my YouTube channel https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCofPGuLNJgPelJDsrAqlEZw

See a better way to build an apocalypse ready Bradley? tips@dailyturismo.com
Having grown up in Detroit, I’ve seen my share of Mustangs, Camaros and MGs shoe-horned onto 4×4 chassis.
They tend to be abominations– they look terrible and drive even worse (think how a 70s Corvette would feel riding on bicycle wheels).
But this? This is cool. Combined with the best kit car video I’ve ever seen.

When I was a little kid, a car repair place we drove past all the time had a sky-high 4×4 purple Gremlin, like one of my Hot Wheels come to life. Where is it now?
