LT1 6-Speed: 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
While the later LS1 powered Camaro (launched in 1998) might get all the glory for being the cheapest way to go fast..but there was an older Camaro that was almost as fast and also available with a 6-speed gearbox. Find this 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 offered for $4000 in Los Banos, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

I love me some Camaros, 6 Speeds, 4k price tags and such but this just looks like a ratty used car to me.
Maybe a few days spent cleaning up some details and some SS wheels and I would feel differently.
The engine is set back surprisingly far considering how long the car is from the windshield forward. There must be a whole lotta nothing behind that big plastic bumper in front of the radiator support. Room for an intercooler?
Ever see a car with terrible, terrible aftermarket wheels, and wish you could have been a fly on the wall when the owner at the time was buying them?
…so you could have screamed, "DON'T DO IT!"
What I'm wondering is, where are the lugs on these wheels? There must be a removeable center cap, but it's really flush and hard to see in the photos.
Based on the photos, the owner is quite proud of those wheels. No accounting for taste. This could be a great project/track rat. Have some wheels and tires waiting for it, and hit an autocross the weekend after you got it home. Set the baseline, and then start fixing things, and adding lightness. I want it.
