LS Swapped: 1990 Volvo 240

I’ve seen too many cars where the wheels have absolutely wrecked the car (22inch on anything, for instance), but it isn’t often where you see a car that the wheels “make” the car. But here is a great example — sure, this vintage Volvo 244 has an LS based V8 swap with 400 horsepower, BORING…but those wheels. They look wicked and the polished alloy matches the two tone paint scheme without looking blingy. Well done whoever picked these wheels. Seller’s Description
Turn Key 400 hp LS swapped Volvo. •Nissan 300zx twin turbo Trans freshly rebuilt with a toploader shifter conversion. It’s one of my favorite shifting cars ever.
•Mcleoud 6 puck unsprung clutch so the shifts are rowdy in any gear.
•3.73 geared Ford 8.8 rear with lunchbox locker.
•Motor is a 5.3 with a summit cam, upgraded valve train, rebuilt 717 heads, tbss intake, snake eater tb and flex fuel injectors, 4 core radiator with spal electric fan.
•Runs reliably down the highway or around town. It’s street driven almost daily. Could be a great drift car or super fast street cruiser. I also have an angle kit for the car that could be negotiated into the deal. Hit me up for more info. I’ll continue enjoying it until it sells.
•No heat or ac hooked up currently but it’s still all there.
•power steering and power brakes both work fine

Those Corvette wheels were such a huge leap forward in 1984 that they still look modern today. Clean design. Timeless.
It’s funny that they’re older than the car itself, but because the 240 design is from the ‘70s (really the ’60s with the 140), they look “new”.
As the father of a 20-year-old boy I laughed out loud when I saw the photo of the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror. They say boys’ brains really don’t fully develop until they are 25.
I dont care about the wheels! What about the cloudy headlight lens? You want me to cough up 10 large for some elderly Norsemans wet dream WITH cloudy headlight lens? WTF!

“where the wheels have absolutely wrecked the car (22inch on anything, for instance)”
The 24 inch wheels on the Bugatti Royale actually look small.
Well in photos they do, but in real life the car is so disorientingly gigantic that you just think that everything else has gotten small.
This probably has more horsepower than the Royale but maybe half the torque.
Looks like fun. What means “shifts are rowdy in any gear” though?
Hmm…
A Volvo body and suspension…
A GM Corvette engine…
A Nissan 300ZX transmission…
and to cap it all off…
A Ford 8.8 rear end.
That’s like a smorgasbord of running gear.
Is it any wonder they picked Volvo as the platform?

Did you say Smörgåsbord?
Speak up! I’m a little hard of herring. And pass the akvavit.
