Low Spec Low Rent: 1967 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan

A decrepit Malibu 4-door sedan might not have been your first choice for the classic to live in your garage, but times are tough right now. Tough for buyers, at least. Car prices from classic to new are up across the board with no signs of easing, so if your budget is less than $5k, you might need to settle for something like this 1967 Chevrolet Malibu offered for $4975 buy-it-now in Tulsa, OK via ebay classifieds.

From the seller:
Very nice Texas barn find 1967 Chevelle 300 Deluxe that is incredibly solid. Its had a new fuel tank, sending unit and interstate battery installed and it runs and drives nicely around the yard with a smooth idle. We have not driven it down the road so while it runs and drives good we do not know if it’s ready for a long trip. For example when you shut the key off it diesels a bit so the timing will probably need to be set, while it stops fine, we have not inspected the brakes and it has a bit of an exhaust leak. It’s these types of details that you may or may not want to address. We installed a new windshield and were informed that there was some rust holes and corrosion behind the trim and if you look at the last two photos you’ll see there is some rust in the front floor pans, this is typically from a leaky heater core at some point in its life. It was repainted years ago, definitely nothing recent as it’s faded and showing chips here and there. This car could be a lot of things, it could be a fairly easy and inexpensive classic to get ready for cruise night, a restoration project or a donor for a high end convertible. Whatever you choose it’s a nice foundation that’s been well preserved. Sold as is, where is, no guarantees of any kind.

Definitely my kind of cheap gamble. Unfortunately, I always end up spending the sale price again on repairs. Cheap is never cheap.
Spending the sale price on repairs, I never do that…except every single time I buy a car.
Wonder if it has one of those tree air fresheners in it?
