Low Miles, Stick Shift: 1997 Ford F150 V6

This next car popped up on my radar as a big pinging target for a few reasons — first it is an F150 in a color, not black or some boring shade of grey. Next it has a manual gearbox — check out the size of that shifter, it looks like someone stuck a Swiffer mop handling into the floor of a truck. Its gonna shift like you are stirring a vat of pudding, but don’t worry about that. It’s got the V6 — who cares. Finally it has a remarkable 75k miles on the odometer. Think about that, 3k miles a year. And the best part, the seller isn’t trying to get some stupid $100k price like those idiots pay over at that Bring a Trustfund website. This thing is properly priced, so don’t be stupid — go buy it!! Find this 1997 Ford F150 V6 offered for $7,900 in San Diego, CA via craigslist.

Single cab, short bed, rwd. Maybe the least useful truck combo of all time?
Just what some people need…
Pretty much the standard farm truck spec around here.
The most valuable in forms of resale value. Hands down. They are sporty and look better and as such, they have a cult-like following. There are huge social media groups and car shows focused on RCSB (regular-cab short-bed) trucks. Ford is cashing in on that craze big time now by being the only maker to offer that with a V8, along with twin-turbo V6, as well as 2 or 4WD. The aftermarket is going wild for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVNIt0mtZH4
I guess I am in the minority here. Trucks to me are utility vehicles, which means I like long bed single cab 4×4’s the best. And when pressed might even choose a rwd for fuel economy reasons. I know complete heresy!
Had this truck but the next generation body style. Didn’t need 4×4, power windows, carpet, etc. It was an amazing truck. This one being in the classic 90’s Ford teal? Awesome!
Nice color, nice price, California no-rust body or chassis. What’s not to love? What with the bad news about the Triton V8’s in this era Ford truck, that V6 sounds especially enticing. Somebody will be getting a well-loved, well put together Ford!
