Low Mile Convertible: 1989 Ford Mustang LX

The Fox Body Ford Mustang (1979-1993) is known for its classic rear-wheel-drive leaf-spring equipped chassis and the Ford 5.0 V8. Regrettably, Ford sold the Fox with a non-turbo 2.3 liter Pinto inline-4 that was completely not appropriate for America’s pony car. These things were so slow…I had a friend in high school who drove one of the Pinto-powered Mustangs and I swear my 300K mile diesel Mercedes-Benz was faster in a straight line. But the worst part was the fact that the Mustang “looked” fast. Here is an example of a convertible Mustang LX with only 35K miles on the odo, but the asking price is about the same as a 150K mile Honda Fit. Find this 1989 Ford Mustang LX offered for $5,500 in Granada Hills, CA via craigslist.
