Looks Like A New Car To Me: 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Wagon

There is a common misconception amongst regular folks that when a car gets to be over 10 years old, it just becomes an unreliable piece of junk. This just isn’t true. Or at least, it isn’t true anymore, because there was a time when daily driving a 10 year old car was unthinkable or at least uncommon, but that era ended in the 1950s when auto makers finally figured out how to put together good stuff. However, if you put aside your uninformed prejudices about old cars and get past the “its unsafe” nonsense (if you are older than 40, you probably spent most of your childhood riding around in the back of a car or pickup without a seat belt) then you will realize there is no reason to drive the over-digitized and hyper-plasticized garbage that comes from factories today. Your family might not agree with your lifestyle, but you’ll be happy that you don’t have a car payment. Find this 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 offered for $4,500 in Fountain Valley, CA via craigslist. We want people to drive to drive the over-digitized and hyper-plasticized garbage ! Otherwise they will muck up the secret world of cheap car people driving perfectly good older beateroneys! They’ve screwed everything else up…….. dont tell them about “our” beaters!
Now if this only had a 4/5 speed! The corollary to this philosohy of ancien beaters is no slushboxes!
Do they believe you even when you do tell them? Or does it go more like this…

A few minor dings here and there, but I notice two minor dents on either side of the hood above the grill that seem like artifacts of someone slamming it closed so hard that they left palmprints in the metal. One wonders what could have caused the emotional distress to provoke such a vigorous closing of the engine compartment.
and meant to add that the seller not mentioning the obvious upholstery wear, the dings on the tailgate and the passenger door that are right there in the photos make you wonder what stuff that isn’t in the photos is unmentioned.
I imagine it’s the owner discovering that the transmission was near it’s 200K end of life and slamming the hood down knowing the car was done. They aren’t even worth it free with the original transmission still in and around 200K.
I like that he hid nothing, the ripped seat front and center, the obvious dents that happen to a 25 year old car in suburban life. No body repairs, not freshly washed glistening in a puddle, nothing on the seat to hide the damage.. That said I’ve had 3 diesel W123s all with more than 300,000 miles and none had a bad seat.
Good honest car at a good honest price. A few hundred for another seat and roll another 100,000 miles.
