Little Old Lady Driven: 1997 Subaru Impreza

The WRX version of Subaru’s impressive GD/GG chassis was first sold in the USA for the 2002 model year (the STi version in 2004) but the basic Impreza was available as far back as 1995. In 1997, Subaru decided to go all-in on the snow thing and offered the Impreza in only 4WD configuration (previously available front-wheel-drive was discontinued). Today’s Impreza has the larger 2.2 liter flat-4 (instead of the base 1.8) but it is saddled with an un-fun 4-speed auto. Find this 1997 Subaru Impreza offered for $16,500 in Reno, NV via craigslist.
