Lightning Does Strike Twice: 1984 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds Cutlass

There will be a time in the future when the Hurst/Olds Cutlass with Lightning-Rod shifters becomes a desirable classic where people bid big bucks on restorable hulks…but I don’t think we are there yet. However, I don’t like the idea of two Lightning Rod Shifter equipped Hurst/Olds are being left to the elements and arachnids. So, let’s save the oddballs from decay — and this next listing isn’t for just one Hurst/Olds, but it is for two! Find these two 1984 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds Cutlass Calaises offered for $5000 in Pittsburgh, PA via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

My uncle had an 84 Hurst Olds when i was a little kid, probably 5 or 6 years old. He showed me how to use the lightning rod shifters and used to take me out in it (in the font seat, this was the 80s) and let me pull the shifter for the next gear. I thought it was the coolest thing and i guess it still kinda is….
I’m surprised the one in the picture has manual windows. I remember my uncle’s was a sunroof car with power everything, I guess offering unlimited combinations of options was the one thing GM had going for it in 1984 besides turbo Buicks which in hindsight might have been a better way to spend comparable money.
