This next car comes as a tip from Dave in Tampa who writes: Nearly a Plymouth Turismo (actually a Scamp), it’s a Dodge Rampage based on the Scamp/Turismo, it’s your daily dose of tiny pickup. It’s up to you whether you risk your dead presidents on a car with no title. I’m not sure if missing a title is a problem bigger than being full of leaves and covered in moss. I’ve also heard you should never trust a vehicle that won’t be found in the same spot you left it (like boats or blimps), and this one needs a brick to stay in place. Get a Vermont registration with a “bill of Sale”. That’s all we need in RI for a registration to transfer to my state. I do not know about other states. I drove to VT. People have paid a lot for others to fly there. Make an appointment online.
As first reported by The Autopian, the Vermont DMV closed this loophole on July 1st. Now if someone out-of-state wants to register a car in Vermont, they’ll have to go to a DMV in their state and have an official fill out a form certifying that the state in question doesn’t require a car to be registered there. Additionally, the Vermont DMV now says that it “will not process this/these transaction(s) unless or until the owner of the subject vehicle can establish a legitimate connection to the state of Vermont.” In short, the fun’s over.
The hatchback coupe variant of this L-body “Omnirizon” platform was never sold as a Scamp, just the Plymouth Turismo (or earlier TC3) or Dodge Charger (or earlier Omni 024). The Scamp was Plymouth’s version of the Rampage, only offered for ’83.
