JDM, But Why? 1996 Toyota Starlet

If you missed your opportunity to buy that $150k collection of 20 grey-market JDM cars that had been impounded by the kind folks at US Customs & Border Protection, then perhaps you can drive a car that won’t make them chase you down like you just paddled across the Rio Grande on a piñata filled with coke. I’m not an expert on importing furrin cars and couldn’t tell you if this will land you in the big house, but you’ll be the only person on your block driving a 5th generation Starlet. Find this 1996 Toyota Starlet offered for $7500 near Columbus, OH via craigslist.

Uh, it’s LHD which means it’s not JDM. I’m guessing the importation is from the Great White North, eh? Probably explains what it’s doing in Ohio. Maybe these were sold new up there…?
Only the previous, rear wheel drive generation Starlet was sold in both Canada and the States. Canada has received some cars deemed too small or inexpensive for the US market, like the Nissan Micra.
