Japanese Domesticated Money: 1995 Nissan President

The Nissan President (日産・プレジデント Nissan Purejidento) was a JDM only luxury limousine built from 1965 through 2010 as an comfortable safe space for executives, diplomats, and yakuza…you know, thugs and gangsters. Somehow, this HG50 generation President has found its way into the United States and is now offered for a small amount of money given the level of JDM respect you are going to get. Is that a factory parking pole?? Sweeeeeet! Find this 1995 Nissan President offered for $10,000 in Oregon City, OR via facejdm marketrad.

This 1995 Nissan President is a very fine example (not a surprise being an auction grade 4) of the nicest Nissan offered at the time in Japan. It runs, and drives perfectly. The engine runs great, the transmission shifts smoothly, and there are no fluid leaks anywhere. No rust anywhere on the car (underside, or topside).

In the U.S we got the more dulled down, and basic version which was called the Infiniti Q45. One of the nice things about this car is despite it being from a foregin market the drivetrain, and many mechanical components are shared with the Q45. Infinit, or Nissan dealers can service this vehicle.

Adaptive suspension was a standard option on these cars (rare option on the Q45). The suspension works great, and does not show any leaks around the suspension struts. The Engine runs like a top, and gets decent fuel economy for a V8 (14-17MPG city, 20-30mpg highway). The transmission shifts very well, and is tuned for more smooth shifts. The 4.5L V8 engine provides good power, however the car is tuned more for comfort so it won’t pin your head to the seat. Cruise control comes standard as well, along with full power seats (front, and back), power tilt steering, and heated seats (front, and back). The sound system is quite impressive for a car of this age, and works well (front speakers rattle a bit). The leather is in very good shape with no visible cracking. Rear seating is even more comfortable than the front, and is reminiscent of sitting on a couch. The rear seat controls work perfectly allowing the passenger to control the climate settings, radio, and passenger seat.

From what I know this was a one owner car in Japan, and driven very little over the past 10 years. The underside is perfect with no signs of rust, or corrosion (car was garage kept). The engine has no leaks, and the fluids were recently replaced.
