Italian Apple Pie: 1972 Fiat 124 Spider

The original Fiat 124 Spider was the product of some awesome Italian designer…oh no..that’s not correct. Oh yeah, it was designed by legendary Dutch designer Tom Tjaarda…who was not Dutch, but American. That’s right, while Tom Tjaarda was the son of Dutch immigrants, he was born in Detroit and was as American as Dutch apple pie when he penned one of the most famous Italian cars of all times. Find this 1972 Fiat 124 Spider offered for $3950 in Scottsboro, AL via craigslist. Tip from Tony.

Anyone want an unrestored original 1972 Fiat 124 Spider? 1.8 liter 4cyl./118hp, 5 speed, 4 wheel power disc brakes, AR alloy wheels, etc.

I bought in 2015 and its sat inside my warehouse till last spring. Last time I started and drove it was 2016. Didn`t smoke-knock-or tick. I checked motor 2 months ago and it is not locked up. Carb was rebuilt in 2016 but will need new gaskets from sitting for 6 years. Should not be that hard to make it run.

Except for 1 repaint around 1995 this car is original. Original color is blue. Interior is original and with the exception of carpet and dash pad its good. Nice set of American Racing wheels.

Deep south car so no salt ever. Has small hole in inner wheel liner, and battery tray is rusty. No wheel lip rust, or pan rust, or subframe rust. No holes in the fenders or quarters, or deck lid.

I havent had the time to mess with it in 7 years, and at 74 years old I dont see me any time soon being able to get to it. I own a small vintage service shop and have a dozen cars in front of it.

I will also consider selling at reasonable additional cost my collection of spare parts: Double bubble hood, trunk lid no rack, 2 complete doors with glass-handles-etc, 2 tan seats in good condition, tan rear seat in good condition, complete 1978 dash w/gauges, and probably some good door panels.

Send your phone number if you want me to call.
$3950 cash. At this price I can not accept offers.
