Infiniti VH45 V8 Powered: 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300D

The W123 generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a slow and steady beast that is typically powered by a 4 or 5 cylinder diesel engine that pushes something sub 100 horsepower into the rear wheels. These are slow cars, but they will outlast the apocalypse because they are built like tanks. This next example, however, has been given an injection of Japanese V8 powered with an Infiniti VH45 V8 from an Q45 and an optimistic asking price. Find this 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300D offered for $10,000 in Oakland, CA via craigslist.

It will take a lot more than $10,000 to fix what it needs.
It appears three cupholders have taken the place of the climate controls
Interesting post, I would be embarrassed to offer that car or any car in that condition! The least is, it should have been washed and detailed. He does not say why the diesel engine is gone and what kind of manual tranni is in it? The car has strange instruments and no mention of A/C or the mileage that is on the car. It looks like it was parked in a barn for years. If he spent more on the car than he wanted, that is not the buyers fault, in that condition he will be lucky to get half.
Ugh, they should have kept it deisel. The mechanical fuel pump merc diesels are HUGELY popular with the WVO/biodiesel crowd.
His wife told him he had to sell the turd so he posted the ad and priced it at $10k.
